Fine Dining Jobs
Fine dining restaurants are full service restaurants serving specific dedicated meal courses. Décor of such restaurants feature higher quality materials with an eye towards the ambience or the mood desired by the restaurateur.
Food service professionals at fine dining restaurants are usually highly trained and often wear more formal attire. Most are hired after high volume, fine dining experience, in a corporate setting.
In fine dining, a lot of emphasis is given to table setting. Food service professionals working in such an establishment should therefore be creative and have superior aesthetic sense. They must have the passion and drive to deliver great service and an outstanding dining experience to their guests.
Ideal management candidates must have experience in the fine dining or upscale restaurant sector with a demonstrable progression up the chain of responsibility and minimum 4-8 years management experience. They must have a passion for working with food and being a leader in providing an outstanding guest experience. They must be comfortable giving direction to large numbers of staff. Culinary experience is quintessential.
The ideal candidate must also have excellent communication skills; strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; and strong analytical/decision-making skills. Additionally, candidates are required to pass background check and provide references.
