Today Chancellor Dennis Walcott announced that the collapse of teacher appraise talks comes with many costs, but the teacher sacking won’t be among them. Last week, by a state deadline with the teachers union, the Department of Education is set to forgo $240 million in increased state school aid after it failed to agree on a new evaluation system.
