While it’s glad news that cloud and virtualization vendor VMware has recorded an impressive growth in its revenues during 2011-12, it’s painful to learn that there will be a massive lay off, with almost 900 employees expected to come under the axe by the end of the first quarter of 2013. The layoffs will remain focused on jobs relating to its SlideRocket presentation software and other non-key cloud and virtualization technologies.
