The incumbent’s responsibility, first and foremost, is to lead by example, to shape and sustain a working environment most conducive to the successful performance of those entrusted to his/her leadership and direction; creating a positive atmosphere and culture within the Food & Hospitality Division and its constituent branches that reflects the pride, professionalism, sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, collaborative engagement, well-being, and wholehearted customer focus of its employees is the incumbent’s essential purpose and focus of main effort.
Responsible for the efficient operation and control of the facility, including food service, retail operations, mobile operations, and snack bar services in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assists in the following: planning, organizing, working, and managing internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies; establishing financial goals commensurate with market analysis of area; preparing financial plan, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records, and reports; reviewing financial status of the facility and recommends changes considered necessary.
Performs a variety of responsible administrative duties requiring a substantial level of judgment, experience, and discretion. Is custodian of all records and property for the facility; determines equipment and facility maintenance requirements, and accomplishes required maintenance, replacement, redecoration, expansion, and improvements. Procures required merchandise, goods and services, including proper storage to prevent spoilage and pilferage.
Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews, signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Advise employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials, and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents/injury to the Human Resources Office. Ensures that safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions, and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with “Return to Work” program initiatives, and following up on employee well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum Qualifications:

Three years experience in retail/food service that demonstrates knowledge in merchandising, food preparation, ordering of food and supplies business administration, accounting procedures and personnel supervision, one year having been at a supervisory level. Must have knowledge of the fundamental principles, methodology, and techniques involved in the operational management of food and retail programs. Must have ability to deal effectively with management and patrons, and communicate well, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of nonappropriated fund policies and procedures preferred. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
