Ability to read and write in order to read and record temperatures and operate cash register.
Approximately 4 weeks on the job experience necessary in order to become familiar with dish room and cafeteria operations.
Interpersonal skills in order to greet employees, visitor and other café patrons.
Demonstrates competence in maintaining proper sanitation standards for specific work area by completing routine cleaning and sanitizing as outlined on sanitation checklist and as assigned.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of procedures for Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions.
Relates proper techniques necessary to their service and job role.
Understands the importance and is aware of the procedure for reporting any and all Blood and Body Fluid exposures.
High degree of confidentiality.
Sets up tray line assembly.
Delivers appropriate patient trays to correct patient.
Retrieves dirty patient carts from nursing units.
Cleans, sanitizes and stores all dishes, utensils, pans, trays, etc., according to established policies and procedures.
Records and monitors dish machine temperature and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
Responsible for sanitation of dish room and its contents.
Empties and disposes of garbage in proper location.
Performs a variety of other related duties including, covering employees for their time off.
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Handles cash according to policies and procedures.
