Responsible for executing and managing the pricing structure in support of the overall merchandising strategy for each store location and market. Identify opportunities to increase sales and profit for all stores by conducting regular analysis, market research and gathering information from the competition. Perform regular, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting/analysis. Lead the production of monthly results reviews of financial and operational performance metrics versus current plan.
Assist management in developing assumptions regarding the volumes of business which could be expected under the current business plan and under alternative strategies. Prepare forecasts and analysis trends in sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas as required.
Manage the day-to-day pricing activities for cash and carry. This includes generating reports, creating spreadsheets, presenting key findings to the merchandising team.
Analyze and develop shelf pricing recommendations to support local customers. Provide fact-based guidance to the merchandisers in selecting pricing strategies/rules that result in increased sales profit and/or marketshare.
Analyze sale information from technologies and financial systems to determine the profitability of products by location so that pricing is correct.
Run financial models to determine needed pricing changes.
Initiate necessary market price checks, ensuring efficient processes and sufficient breadth of market insight.
Implement pricing decisions and communicate to stores.
Generate timely ad-hoc pricing analysis as required by the VP of Merchandising and Marketing.
Research and resolve pricing issues reported by the stores.','!*!Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business related degree.
Related Experience: Minimum 2 years Finance experience. Previous pricing experience strongly preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong quantitative and analytical skills required. Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Outlook. Able to access information within established databases and/or analyze data made available from analysts.
