Position Posted: Catering / Banquet Support Person I (2 positions available)

Position Summary

The Banquet Support Person will be responsible for the following duties:

 Provide excellent customer service to every client during every event and delivery.

 Interact with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

 Work and service catered events from beginning to end of event.

 Ensure catered event is set-up in a timely manner.

 Properly set up and breakdown assigned events.

 Utilize creativity, thoroughness, and excellent organization in the presentation of buffets and table settings.

 Ensure that food safety standards are met throughout catered event, including proper cooling and storage of any remaining items.

Typical Knowledge and Skills

 Excellent customer service skills

 Basic knowledge of setting tables, folding napkins, serving plated meals, and setting buffets.

 Able to safely carry a serving tray of 8 - 10 plated meals properly.

 Able to drive a van or box truck to make deliveries on-campus and off-site locations.

 Must be organized and well groomed.

 Must be knowledgeable of HACCP guidelines, i.e., hot food hot, cold food cold, use of cutting and rubber gloves, hats and hairnets in the kitchen, hand washing etc...

Educational Requirements: Education or equivalent experience

Certification Requirements: none

Physical demands: specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work, such as agility, dexterity and long periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 30 pounds or more.

Unit Specific Requirements

. Varied Shifts: Days and Evenings; Monday thru Sunday: Schedule will be based on business needs

. Times of availability from 4:00 AM to 1:00 AM

. Weekends and Evening Shifts required

. Must be in current position for 6 months

. Must not have any constructive counseling actions issued within the last 90 days

. Must have approval from Current Manager to Post

. New Hires or Off Campus Unit Transfers must have a resume indicating previous demonstrated experience and must complete a Job application.

. All New Hires are subject to Background Checks and Drug Screens

Additional Duties

May assist catering administrative staff upon request
