Summary:
The Food Service Worker shall be responsible for the safe preparation and service of food items to patrons. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To enable individuals with disabilities, we may provide reasonable accommodations to perform essential functions.
   
·                 Assemble, cover, and label cold food items such as sandwiches, salads, pastries, desserts, and fruit according to the daily preparation schedule, task list, or foodservice production schedule.
 
·                 Assist with set up/stock serving areas and self-service areas with paper goods, cups, silverware, napkins, condiments, take-out bags and other designated customer items.
 
·                 Serve cooked menu items and cold bulk food items with proper size utensils, according to the serving size indicated by the production sheet and/or immediate supervisor
 
·                 Restock bulk beverage dispensers, bottled drink refrigerated displays
·                 Replenish all cold and hot food items, individual self-service food items, packaged commercial foods and snacks
 
·                 Retrieve cooked foods from the main kitchen and transport to the Grab n’ Go or other serving area for restocking, refilling service areas, as indicated by food production schedule, usage in service area and/or supervisor direction.  Transport of food items requires pushing a heavy, covered, wheeled cart from the main kitchen area to remote feeding sites at a nearby building
 
·                 Provide Grab and Go/Kiosk service and on-premise foodservice/catering support, as required
 
·                 Maintain high levels of sanitation in the work area; clean and sanitize work areas, service areas, and food preparation areas with proper cleaning solutions
 
·                 Washes pots and pans, cooking equipment, trays, serving utensils, catering, and other foodservice items; utilize a 3 sink compartment dish cleaning system or other mechanical dishwashing system, as provided by the Government
 
·                 Clean and sanitize dishwashing area counters, mop floors
 
·                 Wash service and transport carts, according to regular cleaning schedule
 
·                 Stores clean foodservice pots and pans, cooking equipment, and other serving utensils in the proper areas
 
·                 Dispose of waste, trash, and recyclable items in proper receptacles, in accordance with established procedures
 
·                 Disassemble manual foodservice equipment for proper cleaning and sanitation
 
·                 May work day, evening or weekend shifts to provide foodservice support to a 24 hour feeding operation.
 
·                 Work scheduled shifts, as indicated by PM and set by the Government facility
·                  May work on the cash register during employee shortages or during peak hours

Education and/or Experience
•           High School diploma or GED. 
 
Computer Skills
Proficient with the Microsoft Suite and electronic cash register systems.

Incumbent must be able to perform tasks which involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary position on a daily basis.  Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.  This position requires persistent repetitive movements of the hands, wrists and fingers and the ability to sit for long periods of time.  Working locations are not latex free environments, and some latex exposure can be expected.  Location of work is expected to be within an open office environment.
 
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
