About the Job
Advise supervisors and managers on application of Company and Division policies. Assure a practical level of consistency and accurate policy interpretation interdepartmentally. Partner with Field HR Business Partner to establish Division specific policies. Audit policy compliance.
Communicate with employees as required in resolving conflicts and act as a mediator in facilitating resolution. Collect information on employee complaints, resolve them when possible, escalating more significant issues to the Field HR Business Partner for resolution.
Assist in identifying, documenting, and communicating employee performance issues. Review performance appraisals and action plans and provide feedback to leaders prior to communicating with employees.
Counsel managers and supervisors on disciplinary procedures and appropriate corresponding paperwork/documentation.
Collaborate with the Field HR Business Partner to develop programs and processes that promote a positive work environment, conducting pro-active employee relations activities such as Division walk-throughs, structured feedback sessions and employee recognition programs.
Conduct recruitment efforts for Territory Managers, clerical and hourly employees. Meet with hiring managers to review job descriptions and confirm skills required for job openings. Review qualifications of potential candidates responding to job postings and facilitate the selection process. With hiring manager, determine anticipated total compensation offer for these openings. Support recruiting efforts by attending job fairs, college recruiting fairs, and trade shows.
Conduct new-employee orientation and ensure appropriate onboarding process of new employees
Counsel managers, supervisors, and employees about on-the-job and formal training opportunities to develop new skills and prepare for advancement. Assist in preparing Individual Development Plans and facilitate the annual goals setting process.
Determine and administer the compensation and benefits changes associated with HR transactions including merit increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, terminations, and leaves of absence. Review performance appraisals for consistency and verify wage increases comply with current compensation practice.
Consult with Field HR Business Partner to develop department goals and objectives, and implement strategies to meet these goals.
Administer and provide updates to the Division's annual Affirmative Action Plan. Ensure good faith effort compliance, sharing all openings with available recruiting sources and educating managers on proper interviewing and selection guidelines. Ensure proposer administration of the Taleo Applicant Tracking System.
Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from database.
: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; PHR or SPHR certification desirable.
: Minimum 3 years HR experience with 2 in professional (non-administrative) role. Experience consulting with and advising small management teams. Prior experience working in a collective bargaining environment preferred (for Divisions with a collective bargaining agreement only). Familiar with legislation concerning employment - ADA, FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, Title VII. Experience consulting and advising large management teams.
: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong organizational skills; Proficient in current Office software; HRIS familiarity - PeopleSoft preferred; Applicant tracking experience preferred; Strong problem solving & decision making skills; Effective presentation skills; Ability to interface with all employee levels within the Division; Supervisory experience preferred.
